The purpose of this class is to provide a framework for understanding the important role of community participation, and civic policies that enhance social capital for creating healthy, vibrant, equitable, and environmentally sound, and resilient communities.
This class emphasizes discussion and brief lectures, supplemented by classroom exercises, videos, and a term-long community-based project. Your participation is indispensable.
Students will work in groups on term long projects in the new evolving ecodistrict around the PSU campus, analyzing or developing social cohesion strategies for the new green neighborhood.
